Some info to share ... pardon the numbering

Flood

Assalammualaikum and a good day to all.

It is truly a sad and scary ( not to mention hurtful ) experience for those who have to face the aftermath of the flood which had cost them their homes and loved ones . They are being tested by god and we , who are not in their shoes but merely spectators of this devastating crisis , can offer them our help in quite a few ways :
1. Donate items that can help to lighten their burden . From the pictures and reports received , we can see the sufferings of babies and the elderly.
2. Involve yourselves first hand by carrying out volunteer work at the flood sites .
3. Help the people to rebuild their homes .

There are gazillion ways for us to do our part in helping these flood victims. As teachers to be , you have to have emphaty           ("teacher's guilt") whenever you see disasters happening around you . A teacher without emphaty is dead on the inside .

God has given us a great load of good things in life without asking for anything from us in return . Please share them with others who are less fortunate ... after all , the luxury that we are in is actually His . When the time comes , all will be returned to the owner . We have NOTHING that we can call our own ...so please DON'T be stingy .

Banjir

Banjir dah surut sedikit....Alhamduliilah. ... to those IPG students who are involved in this tragedy, saya harap anda semua mampu bersabar . I know that it's easier said than done , tapi cubalah sedaya mungkin... ini semua ujian dari Allah sebagai kafarah kepada dosa sekaligus , menaikkan darjat  kita .... kami di sini hanya mampu berdoa .... semoga dimakbulkan Allah. ..

Tahniah

Sekalung tahniah diucapkan kepada my 4 ex-trainees yang telah berjaya melepasi temuduga SPP . Semoga anda semua akan ditempatkan di sekolah yang mampu membangkitkan semangat anda semua utk mengajar . Buktikan yang lepasan IPG Kampus Ipoh adalah yang terbaik...

Tahniah sekali lagi .... I'm very proud of all of you ...

Ammunition for practicum....

Next semester is the final practicum for the K group and the first for the L group . I would like to suggest these praise stamps to be used in the classroom . These 2 are just samples... they come in various colours and remarks /comments ... this beats writing comments manually in their exercise books . 

This is good for motivating the pupils . They love the fact that their work is being graded in such a way ... it would be better if the stamp has some cartoon characters in it . Most importantly , the act of praising a child's work  leaves a mark in the child's heart .

what are they trying to say ?

Teachers of English .... you are put on earth to prevent these from happening ..... still......

Moderation of exam scripts

Lecturers during the 3 day moderation of the November exam papers at Regency , KL . A fruitful 3 day workshop . We managed to keep our sanity all through the workshop. ..

 A great Appreciation Dinner thrown by the 'J' group . We will miss ALL of you .  May all of you have a great teaching life and a bright future as teachers of English .... most of all... WELCOME TO THE TEACHING WORLD !! 

Easier said than done....

Sesuatu yang tersangat mudah tapi payah diamalkan....apa dia? BUANG SAMPAH KE DALAM TONG SAMPAH............

 terlalu mudah disebut tapi ...... nak angkat tudung dan buang pun tak boleh...gambar ni diambil DALAM IPG / maktab...kalau di sekolah saya boleh terima sebab budak-budak bawah 12 tahun .... ni BAKAL GURU !!

Come on guys .... if this simple task can't be done correctly, just imagine what would happen to your pupils when you're posted to schools... i must say that this is a BAD EXAMPLE to the pupils...

Trainees...PLEASE GROW UP !!

Assalammualaikum dan selamat sejahtera semua ...

Minggu depan ialah minggu terakhir bagi semua guru pelatih yang sedang menduduki peperiksaan akhir kini . kalian akan bercuti sebulan lebih . Harapan saya agar kalian semua akan kembali ke IPG pada Januari 2015 dengan semangat yang baru dan azam yang baru . Sudah - sudahlah dengan perangai kalian yang negatif       ( sekiranya ada ) di tahun 2014 ini . Bukalah buku yang baru ....

Bagi yang sentiasa positif , teruskan bersikap demikian kerana hanya mereka yang positif sahaja akan menjadi seorang yang bebas dari stress dan mampu berfikir secara rasional .

Kepada para pelajar semester 1 kini , kalian akan melangkah ke semester ke 2 yang pastinya lebih mencabar . Harapan saya agar kalian dapat gunakan pengalaman di semester 1 ini sebagai panduan untuk kalian menjalani kehidupan kalian sebagai guru pelatih IPG Kampus Ipoh .

          A Teacher is a person who is FULL of positive values regardless where or who they are teaching . The community members ( most of them ... if not all ) in where we are teaching ,  look up to us .. respect us and to some, we are the place of reference . Having said that , we must forever give and show the best in what we do . Show a good example wherever we go .

          As trainee teachers , especially the ones in the first semester , positive values are very important to be instilled in your hearts . They have to be nurtured day in , day out to make them strong and durable.

          These positive values are already IN you .... all you have to do is polish them ..How .. you ask ?..... by USING them . Learn to say " I'm sorry" , "Thank you" , "May i help you ? "  or  " Excuse me " ... always be HUMBLE ... because that is the key to positive values ...

           Respect your elders regardless their race or religion because they are wiser as they have more experience than us ... learn from them ..... if you are able to do so , you will look at the world differently,  appreciate the people around you more and willing to sacrifice yourselves for the sake of others .

            Remember ..! Treat OTHERS as how you want others to treat YOU .

For the umpteenth time... please understand .....

Your respective tutors do NOT have any power on giving you the permission to go home early for the holidays . If you have any reason to do so , please consult the HEP !! They are the best place for you to refer to regarding this matter. I have written about the consequences of your actions if you chose to go home early in my previous post. You are all adults ...so..make the correct choice ...as how a responsible teacher would..
