The 3rd person approach

Another trainee of mine used the 'mask of another identity' technique to teach the year 3 class .THE KIDS LOVED HER !! They were still giggling even when the trainee had taken off her mask.
This breath of fresh air was what the kids needed in a lesson. They really enjoyed the activities ...keep it up!!

Language Arts

A great idea ... opening up a fruit stall to teach about fruits ...and a colourful fruit stall too .

Pupils' involvement is good ... but don't burden them with too much task .. for example , the boy had to show three word strips to the class and then paste the three strips on the board ... the boy managed to hold only two in his small hands to show to the class , the teacher had tomhold the last one ...
It is better to assign a strip to a pupil . That way we can involve more pupils in activities ..making it more student centered .

Remember to plan the stages in your lesson to suit the given time and do not 'steal' time from other stages . In the photo above , we can see that even though they were standing , two pupils were still colouring their work while the whole class was singing .

Kursus 2 hari MQA

Tn Hj Nazri from UiTM Puncak Alam ...the penceramah

The 2nd and last day for the MQA briefing . Pencerahan yg amat mendalam tentang kehendak MQA dan semua perkara yg kita dah buat dan tak buat . Hj Nazri from UiTM Puncak Alam ..... he really REALLY knows his stuff . He is MQA personified !! WOW !!

Language Arts

I observed one of the trainees the other day in one of the schools in Ipoh teaching language arts . It was a nice lesson ," Make  your own story book " as the language arts activity . There are samples , pasted on the board as pupils' guidance . However , it would be nicer if the trainee were to draw a man rather than a matchstick man .

The pupils are drawing matchstick men as shown in the sample.

However , the lesson was a success . The pupils enjoyed the lesson and they gained a lot from it . Well done ! Keep up the good work.

WARNING !!

This semester , it has come to my attention that there are some trainees who are not pleased with the schools that they are sent to.
It is ok not to like the schools but what is NOT ok is POSTING your dislikes on Facebook . It is even WORSE when you ADD one of the teachers from the school that you have issues with as your Facebook friend .
Please remember that when trainees go to schools , they carry with them the name of their IPG . Trainees.....trainees ..... trainees ..... Please be more responsible trainee teachers and act proffesionally when it comes to work . Turn whatever it is that you disagree on into something positive that you can use . It is just for 8 weeks . Do and give your best .... it would be over before you know it....

LCD Projector in the classroom....

If you are planning on using the LCD projector in the classroom, please reconsider . Just ask for permission to use the computer laboratory . It is much more convenient.  It's air conditioned and
quiet. Pupils can really concentrate on the lesson .
An ordinary classroom poses some problems and as shown in the picture above , we can see one of them......early morning sunshine ...there's no stopping it .

Spider..... takutnyaaaaaaaa

There are 6 pictures on the softboard...a lion, cheetah, tiger, dragon, dolphin and spider , the names of the 6 groups the pupils are in ... the problem is the spider .... it's human and not the eight legged creature .... i asked the trainee why ......it turned out that the trainee was scared of spiders that she couldn't bring herself to print out the PICTURE of a spider .... ha ha ha ...so spider becomes SPIDERMAN ....

Dangers

Assalammualaikum and a very good day to all .....

Carrying out activities whether you are in class or in the open , please be aware of dangers that are lurking in every corner....and in different forms .

Here is one of them :

The group of pupils was asked to give directions to their blindfolded friends ... easy enough theoretically but very dangerous in reality .. what if the pupil were to fall face first onto the floor ? Or bump his / her head onto the wall...ANYTHING can happen if we make room for it to happen...so , make sure to cover ALL possibilities . Remember that the smallest mark on your pupil COULD result in a day in court.
