English Accent

Assalammualaikum and a good day to all...

Since Malaysia was under the British Empire once upon a time, we tend to speak English with the British accent . However , as the years go by, Malaysia of today is using the American accent. How is this possible ? Well , it's simple really . The language made its way into our houses daily through movies, tv shows and even advertisements. Famous movies or better known as Box Office movies hail from the United States such as the Avengers: Endgame .  Of course the actors is using the American accent when they act . Little by little our English slowly deviated from the British English.

When we say British English , it is further divided into the Queen's English and the standard British English. Queen's English ( also known as RP short for Received Pronunciation ) is from the Northen part of England where as the standard English is used in the South. weeks of patience

Assalammualaikum and a good day to all...

Today is the 7th day of our Movement Restriction Order (MRO) and all of us are asked to work from home . Thus, the students will have to "attend " online classes. Whatever and however it is , we have to look at the bigger picture here which is our health and survival against this virus . Please everyone. STAY HOME. You have spent years vacationing, shopping , relaxing and now the government is asking for 2 weeks of your years to STAY HOME. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK ?

A lot of safety measures had been taken to ensure our safety as in the photo below . People are lined up single file , a metre apart from each other to enter the market ( which only allows 10 people to be in at a time ) .

Lastly people...STAY INDOORS...STAY INDOORS...STAY INDOORS...The faster this is over , the faster we can get back to our lives.

Welcome to a new year and a new beginning . This semester is going to be quite a challenge as our English unit has only 11 members compared to almost 30 when i first joined . The passing of our beloved brother En Suhaimi last year and also the retirement of our seniour lecturers before that have taken a great toll on our teaching hours .

However , we are positive in our lives ahead here in IPGK Ipoh . Teaching 11 to 19 hours a week is something that we look forward to. Again , i am assigned to teach Language Development II to two classes and one Speech Communication class . Thank god for a circle of friends who support you as well as each other .

Although there are still NO flying cars, without a doubt , we are HERE !!
