Here is a sample of a lesson plan or Rancangan Pengajaran Harian . For teachers , this book is VERY priceless . Why ? This book is also known as the " Teaching License" . The real teaching license was a small book that was given to all teachers and had to be renewed once a year . However , it was abolished somewhere in the early 90s and replaced with the lesson plan book .
This book is very popular that whoever comes to visit us in schools , will automatically ask for this book . Be sure that this book is up-to-date ( your biodata , teaching hours , lesson plan of the day , your pupils' names and marks etc ) . Let it be known that a teacher without an up-to-date lesson plan is committing an offense and action will be taken against them .
Never leave it at home so that you'll be able to show it to whomever asking for it .
Never lose it , tear it , misplace it or let your pet EAT IT ....
It is also important because this is where your marks ( for your prestasi tahunan ) come from .
Knowing the worth of this book , should you decorate it with these kind of 'decorations' ?
So ,
1. Plan your work BEFORE HAND on a piece of paper or the computer .
2. COPY it out into the book in your NEATEST handwriting .
3. If you made a mistake , use correction fluid .
4. If too much mistakes made , paste / rip the pages neatly and carefully so as not to leave any marks / tear
visible to the eye .
5. If you really need to cancel off a sentence or two , make sure you use only 1 cancellation line in
different colour and not 2/3 lines and most importantly, use a RULER !!
Another thing... please choose your WORDS before writing them in your book because it reflects you . In the example above , I circled the words "wasting time" because it gave the impression that the teacher was a lazy teacher who's always looking for ways to drag the lesson instead of teaching it . A teacher should not "waste time" in the class room .
This blog talks about teacher training and whatever that is going on in the world of teaching . The focus is of course for the students of Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ipoh , an institute dedicated to training would-be-teachers in the art of teaching .... still , knowledge is meant to be shared .. so .. here i am ..sharing my years of teaching primary ( rural ) schools . Hope that one of the entries is of help to you readers .

Assalammualaikum and a very good day to all...
3 groups have finished their practicum :
1. The 'K' group / 1st practicum ( 1 month )
2. The 'J' group / 3rd / final practicum ( 3 months )
3. The Warwick University group ( 3.5 months )
Each of them gave different feedbacks concerning practicum . What ever they are , good or bad feedbacks , they're just a chip off a much bigger block . The 'K' group was the most challenged due to time constraints . They have to teach , get to know school culture , the pupils' attitudes , lesson planning and reflection / report writing . Some even trembled in front of the classroom.
However , I'm proud of my Warwick University students . Although they were small sized and some of the students were bigger than them ( not to mention that one of them actually wanted to quit teaching on the second day ) , they managed to control the noisiest class !! They managed to attract their interest in learning . How about that ?
My 'J' group was the happiest since it was their last practicum and so much closer to graduation !!
Here are some of the dos and don'ts of teaching practicum .
