it's that time again

Assalammualaikum and a good day to all....

It's that time again where teacher trainees are sent to schools to undergo teaching practice. .otherwise known as practicum.  Those from IPGKI are not exempted.  They'll be reporting to the schools' administrators next week, 2nd February . 4 trainees are entrusted to my care . When i look at them, i see myself 20 over years ago... treading on the same path that they are now ...unsure of what the school would be like. ..

Well... whatever it is, you have made it THIS far ... Be strong and confident . Just enjoy your practicum.  Don't overdo yourselves. Make sure you do your work and be proud of it . I can only guide you using my years of experience .

Trainees ......please keep these in mind ...

1. Lesson plan
    Make sure your lesson plans are up to date . Don't go into a class without one... unless you're relieving
    other teachers.

2. Teaching hours 
    When you are given your teaching time tables , it is important that you DON'T complain ...you're there to
    EXPERIENCE school in real life . Consider yourselves lucky to receive 7 -10 periods of teaching a
    week...... an ordinary teacher gets at least 24 periods of teaching  a week.

3. School politics
    Most importantly, DO NOT go into the politics of the school that you are in . You are still a trainee . You
    are PLACED there to LEARN...not POSTED there to WORK. So, please act like a student.

4.Canteen
   The canteen is NOT a place for you to 'hang out' . It is a place for you to eat and drink . Do not waste
   your time at the canteen . It will leave a bad impression on us . 

5.Mingle
   Please make it a point to mingle around with other teachers .... no man is an island .... so , DON'T BE
   ONE !!!!!! 

6. Clothes
    If you are teaching Pendidikan Jasmani ( Physical Education ) , please change your clothes ...do not go the field in your leather shoes and neckties . It is a violation to the ministry's dress code . 

These are the ones that we always overlook .... do your best to be well aware of them ...ok guys.... best of luck . Don't do things that i wouldn't do...

Congratulations

It seems that congratulations are in order to my EX trainees who will start their teaching career this 29th January . Even though I have taught you for a few semesters,  i felt as if I have taught you since your foundation days .
We don't always get what we want . So no matter where you're  posted to , be the BEST teacher there is ... everything that you do, do it sincerely for Allah .

Something to share .... Language is just a tool to get messages across ... don't make it too difficult for others to understand us just because we FEEL that we are MORE educated than others . Be humble ..always .

Welcome 2015 !!

Assalammualaikum and a very good day to all...

         So ends the first day of school and lecture ( for IPGs )....
Although it was difficult to pry ourselves off our comfortable beds , we have managed to do so .... Congratulations are in order.
          Lectures ... assignments ... practicum. ... exams are coming your way . Prepare yourselves. ... Make sure that whatever mistakes that you made last semester STAY in the last semester.  Don't repeat them in THIS semester .....
           Whatever it is , GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND MAKE THIS YEAR BETTER THAN LAST YEAR .

Congratulations. ... an IPGKI student from K unit ... rode all the way to Kelantan to help the flood victims .... you have done us proud ... keep it up.... a great example to others ...

Assalammualaikum and a very good NEW YEAR TO ALL....

2014 has left us with a zillion and one memories of either  sweet or sour ... or BOTH !! Just to add another item to your memory banks is the final exam RESULTS .... hope ALL of you got good results and most importantly , you don't have to resit for any of last sem's paper ...

Start afresh with 2015 .... for those 2nd semester students , you have learned a lot in semester 1 and i hope that you will not repeat the same mistakes that you've made last semester in this new semester .

Stay positive and treat every obstacle as a new challenge for you to overcome .
